WHO WE ARE
Community Bible Fellowship exists to celebrate God’s Presence among us. We do this by exalting the Lord Jesus by growing to passionately know Him and becoming His devoted disciples. Our focus is on creating a Fellowship that is a safe gathering place where God’s Grace, Acceptance, Forgiveness, and Healing can be personally experienced through our loving relationships. Within this environment, we strive to equip the saints to accept and fulfilling their calling to live out in their own lives, and before others, the proclamation of the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ. In this manner, together we invite others to encounter the Living Savior and join in celebrating God-with-us: Immauel.
We are a community of believers in the Kettle Falls area on a life long journey with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are saved by Grace to glorify his Name in all that we do. When this journey comes to a close, our hope will become a reality where we will be with our Savior for all eternity.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
The Bible
We believe that the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is God’s infallible, inerrant Word, written by men who were uniquely moved by the Holy Spirit, who chose the words employed according to the personality and background of the human author. We affirm our belief in the verbal, complete, and equal inspiration of the Scriptures in their original writing, and that it
is our sole authority in all matters.
II Peter 1:21, II Timothy 3:16-17
God
We believe there is but one true and living God, Creator of heaven and earth; eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, co-equal in power and glory, and identical in their essential nature, attributes, and perfection.
Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 45:21-22, Genesis 1:1, Acts 17:24, Matthew 28:19, Matthew 3:16-17
·
God the Father
We believe that God is perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, measureless in power, and absolute in sovereignty. We rejoice that he concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of mankind; that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to him through Jesus Christ.
I Peter 1:15-16, Revelations 1:8, 19:1,6, Ephesians 1:11, Matthew 7:11, John 3:16
·
God the Son
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, and became man without ceasing to be God; He lived a sinless life; died upon the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sin of the world; He arose from the dead in the body in which He was crucified; He ascended into heaven in that body glorified, where He is now our interceding High Priest; He will come again personally and visibly to set up His Kingdom and to judge the living and the dead.
John 1:1-2, Luke 1:35, Matthew 1:18-25, Romans 3:24-25, I Corinthians 15:24-25, I Peter 1:3-5, Colossians 1:15, Philippians 2:5-8, I Peter 2:24-25, Luke 24, Hebrews 4:14-16, Acts 1:9-11, I Thessalonians 4:16-18, Matthew 25:31-32
·
God the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit baptizes believers into the body of Christ and permanently indwells them at the time of salvation. He is progressively instructing and empowering the believer for service and godly living, and preserving believers until Christ’s return.
I Corinthians 3:16, I Corinthians 12:13, John14:16-17, Titus 3:5, Romans 8:9, Ephesians 1:13-14, Galatians 5:22-25
Mankind
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God and was originally without sin. Through Adam’s and Eve’s willful disobedience to God’s will and Word, alienation from God was brought on the entire human race resulting in spiritual and physical death. Therefore, all human beings are sinners by nature and by choice.
Genesis 1:27, Isaiah 53:6, Romans 3:22-24, Romans 5:12-21, Ephesians 2:1-3,12
Salvation
We believe that salvation is wholly of God’s grace; that Jesus died upon the cross as a sinless substitute for people of all ages and times; that this salvation is received through faith in Jesus as Lord, and is based solely on the merit of His shed blood and not on any human work or ordinance.
John 1:12, Ephesians 1:7-8, Ephesians 2:8-9, II Corinthians 5:21, I Peter 1:18-19, Romans 10:9-10, Titus 3:5-7
The Church
We believe that the Church, having begun at Pentecost, consists of all who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit, and finds its expression as local churches, operating under the direction of Jesus as Lord and Head, through elders, pastors-teachers, and evangelists, who equip the saints to fulfill the work of the ministry as outlined in Scripture.
Ephesians 1:22-23, Ephesians 4:11-13, Ephesians 5:25-27, I Corinthians 12:12-14,17
The Ordinances
We believe that salvation is a gift of God to all who place their faith in his Son Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Jesus directed new believers to follow that step of faith with water baptism as an outward symbol of their spiritual identification with His death, burial, and resurrection. Jesus also directed his followers to participate together in the memorial supper to remember His death until He comes again in glory.
Matthew 26:26-29, Matthew 28:18-20, I Corinthians 11:23-26, Romans 6:3-5
Christian’s Responsibility
We believe that all believers have been made new persons in Christ, through spiritual rebirth. While we are still capable of acting on the urges of the sinful nature (the flesh), with which we once were identified, when we do so, we can only produce works which are not pleasing to God. However, we can choose to rely on the Holy Spirit and His love living within us to do that which is glorifying to Him. This choice leads to a fruitful life that pleased the Father.
Romans 12:1-2, Galatians 2:20, Galatians 5:16-26
Satan
We believe that Satan is a person, a fallen angel, the author of sin, and the cause of the fall of mankind. He is the open and declared enemy of God and man. He will be eternally punished in the lake of fire.
John 8:44, II Thessalonians 2:3-4, I Peter5:8, Ezekiel 28:11-19, Isaiah 14:12-15, Revelations 20:10
The Future
We believe that all human beings will be raised from the dead, at their proper time, to participate either in eternal life prepared for those who have been redeemed, or to participate in eternal punishment reserved for the devil and his angels. We look for the visible, bodily return of Jesus Christ to earth. This hope calls us to holy living, genuine witness and encouragement of heart.
Matthew 25:31-32,46, Revelations 20:15, Hebrews 11:15, I Thessalonians 4:13-18, II Peter 3:10-13, Revelations 21:1-5, Revelations 22:3-5,11, I Thessalonians 4:13-18

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves,it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:8-10
